Modular room and ceiling elements from Getinge's product range Maquet VARIOP allow hospitals to design every aspect of the operating room in line with their requirements. The individual elements are sealed to the substructure for effective pressure regulation. They are easy to install, and can be quickly disassembled for rapid access to medical gases and cabling. VARIOP fully meets all construction requirements in terms of fire, radiation and sound insulation, and its surfaces can withstand any hospital-approved cleaning agents and disinfectants. Plus the wide selection of available colors and prints is perfect for creating an appealing working environment and improving the patient experience.

Substructure

Satisfies highest demands: VARIOP complies with the stringent quality requirements placed on surgical workplaces and intensive care units down to the very last detail. The system itself is a complete unit. Wall and ceiling elements are sealed down to the substructure so that the required pressure conditions can be realized.

Wall and Installation Elements

The modular wall system can adapt to the most varied building conditions. The framework is formed by a substructure. The wall elements are available in various colors, materials and finishes.

Doors

In accordance with the requirements of the customer and the work procedures, a door system in stainless steel is used. The door system can be operated either manually or automatically. In order to meet the high quality of design, the doors are matching the color system. Printed motifs on the door leaf may be used to improve the ambience of the room. The low construction depth of the running gear, the screw-less window installation and the joint-free door frames meet the high hygienic requirements of sensitive areas.

Ceiling

The solid substructure allows the flexible selection of mounting points on the unfinished ceiling. The suspended ceiling consists of individual metal cassettes integrating air-supply ceiling, operating lights, ceiling service units as well as room lighting.

Colors and Images

Individually printable wall elements provide a pleasant ambience. With the latest printing technology, the image is directly printed onto the wall element. Motifs can therefore be chosen to fit to the respective function area. The program VARIOP INDIVIDUAL enables client-specific interior design with unlimited possibilities.

Floor RailFloor Rail

The floor rails is comprised of profiled 1.5 mm steel plates. They are secured to the unfinished floor using clamping plates and screws with dowels or threaded rods. The supports consist of 2 mm rectangular steel pipes.

Ceiling RailCeiling Rail

The ceiling rail consists of a painted extruded aluminum section. It is designed to mount the suspended ceiling cassette and is painted in the same white color (RAL 9016). The upper wall element is inserted and sealed into the opening of the ceiling rail.

InstallationInstallation

The cavity in the substructure between the wall elements can be used for technical installations such as electricity, gases, information technology and water.

Wall and Installation Elements

Adaptable to the most varied building conditions, anything but one-sided.

The modular wall system can adapt to the most varied building conditions. The framework is formed by a substructure. The wall elements are available in various colors, materials and finishes. Should the client require antibacterial powder coating, we can provide products inspected and certified in line with Sanitized® quality standards. The antibacterial effect is based on the natural ingredient silver which inactivates bacteria or inhibits their growth. Prefabricated components ensure the shortest possible installation times and optimized project management. Operating room downtimes are minimized: A benefit which certainly pays off. The wall elements can be easily disassembled and reinstalled without any special tools.

Faster and Safer

The flexible installation elements enable the well-organized arrangement of switches, sockets and gas supply outlets while doing optimal justice to functionality and design. The easy assembly and disassembly of individual elements allows quick access to medical gases, electrical and multimedia installations. Clients are thus best equipped with the optimal prerequisites for adapting both operating rooms and intensive care units to cutting-edge technologies and to meet their constantly changing needs. Changes in the upper and lower wall elements can be made without having to disconnect electricity and gases.

General Wall ElementsGeneral Wall Elements

The wall elements are manufactured from powder coated stainless steel bonded to a plasterboard panel. The steel sheet is folded on all four edges to enclose the plasterboard edges. A module consists of a lower wall element, the installation element and an upper wall element. The installation element ensures the organised arrangement of switches, sockets and terminal units. The upper wall element reaches the ceiling rail of the suspended ceiling. The wall elements can be replaced individually.

Full-glass ElementsFull-glass Elements

The frameless, half-height and ceiling-height full-glass elements comprise of thermally toughened 6 mm single-pane safety glass. The all-glass elements are part of the modular room system and can be used as flexibly and variably as the wall elements.

Options

  • Electric motor-powered venetian blinds or roller blinds between the glass panes
  • Full-glass elements with radiation protection RD 30 and RD 50
  • LCD glass in the frame which may be switched at the push of a button from transparent to nontransparent

Doors

Door system for high quality requirements

The sliding door system is reliable and can be adapted to changing requirements:

  • The entire doors system has been type tested in accordance with German and European standards for 1 million cycles (DIN 18650, DIN EN 16005 and the Machine Directive 2006/42/EU, as well as the applicable standards and regulations).
  • The radiation protection with its higher door leaf weights is also type tested and thus certified.
  • Thanks to the modular structure of the control technology the system is able to respond to new challenges, e.g. modernized building services technology.

The options afforded by the VARIOP door system are tailored precisely to the area of use:

Ceiling

Ensuring quick access to building installations such as air-conditioning, medical gases or electric.

Meets All Requirements

The solid substructure allows the flexible selection of mounting points on the unfinished ceiling. The suspended ceiling consists of individual metal cassettes integrating air-supply ceiling, operating lights, ceiling service units as well as room lighting. The air-supply ceiling reduces the risk of infection during surgery and provides optimal room temperature and humidity.

Open to Change

In the event of maintenance or conversion projects, the cassettes can simply be disassembled and then reinstalled – perfect when changes have to be made to the room lighting or the air-supply system. The VARIOP ceiling system ensures quick access to building installations such as air-conditioning, medical gases or electric installations. Here too, the modular system is a definite timesaver which further minimizes any risk of losing income resulting from operating room downtimes.

Ceiling CassetteCeiling Cassette

The ceiling system comprises detachable metal cassettes. For restructuring purposes these ceiling cassettes can simply be disassembled and then reinstalled. The ceiling cassettes consist of electrolytically galvanized steel plates. The visible side is coated with a white polyurethane powder-based finish (RAL 9016). All sides of the ceiling cassettes have folded edges.

Room LightingRoom Lighting

The clean room recessed lights are integrated flush into the VARIOP ceiling system. The illumination is defined in accordance with the specific requirements in coordination with the customer.
